"I'm honored to take on this leadership role as CPAN continues its vital work protecting the rights of catastrophic crash survivors and all Michigan drivers," Kroese said. "Having spent over two decades fighting for people with brain injuries, I understand firsthand what's at stake when insurance companies limit access to life-saving care. I'm committed to ensuring CPAN continues to be an effective voice for survivors at the Capitol, in the courts, and in the public arena."

Kroese brings extensive experience to the role, having spent more than 20 years leading highly successful neuro rehabilitation programs. She currently serves as executive vice president at Hope Network Neuro Rehabilitation, where she has overseen extensive program growth and expanded the program's referral base from regional to national in scope.

Kroese has been deeply involved in Michigan's no-fault advocacy efforts, serving as a member of the CPAN Board of Directors since 2011. She co-authored the Michigan Auto No-Fault Rehabilitation Clinic Fee Schedule and helped develop the legislative language for Senate Bill 314 and House Bill 4486, which were designed to implement fair fee schedules for services impacted by Michigan's auto reform legislation.

Kroese also served on the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council Board of Directors from 2006-2017, including a term as president from 2012-2014. She received the Legacy Society Community Service and Leadership Award from the Brain Injury Association of Michigan in 2016.

Kroese was unanimously approved as president at the May CPAN Board of Directors meeting. She will take on the role previously held by Tim Hoste, who had served as President since May 2023.

“It’s more important than ever for our coalition to be a strong voice for survivors, families, and everyone who drives on Michigan’s roads,” Kroese said. "I look forward to building on the strong foundation that Tim and previous leaders have established while working with our dedicated coalition members to advance consumer protections and hold insurance companies accountable for their promises to policyholders."

Hoste praised Kroese's appointment and her extensive background in the field.

"Margaret has been a tireless advocate for brain injury survivors throughout her career," Hoste said. "Her deep understanding of both the clinical and policy sides of our work, combined with her proven leadership abilities, make her the ideal person to guide CPAN forward. The coalition is in excellent hands."
